For all of you apologetic buffs here is a question. I have a blog and I did an article about the amount of churches in my town and how it all relates back to tradition or the lack thereof. A local atheist left a comment on my blog saying pretty much if I rely so heavily on tradition why don’t I follow the written tradition of the old testament law (such as stoning homosexuals). I think I know what I want to say, but if you could read the article and his response at my blog www.phillb.net . Leave some comments there or here and thank you for all your help.

Thanks, Phill

For all of you apologetic buffs here is a question. How do you answer this atheists questions about a recent blog I had on my site at www.phillb.net . Feel free to leave answers as comments on my site…

Greetings Phill!!! :extrahappy:

Welcome to Catholic Answers Forums!!!

I did look over your blog - a town with 42 churches!!! I did see the comment. I think you will want to ask for help on either the apologetics forum at: forums.catholic-questions.org/forumdisplay.php?f=20 or on the Non-Catholic Religions forum at: forums.catholic-questions.org/forumdisplay.php?f=14.

My comments is that God calls to all of us - he wants all of us to listen to him and come to him and know and serve him; but many have allowed themselves to be deaf to his call and blind to his work and love. But, you will get much better answers on either of the other forums!!!

Do look us over - join in - learn and grow and share with us!!

:signofcross: Heavenly Father, bless Phill and Jordan as they plan a wedding; wrap your arms of love around them; bind them in this Sacrament of Marriage; and may you always be first in their live!!! Show them your love, your mercy, your forgiveness and your plan for them; bless them with children and a long life together!!! Amen

Most people are familiar with the story of the woman caught in adultery. The Law required that she be stoned for her infidelity, but Jesus said “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.”
When we judge the sins of another, we are called to also reflect on our own sins. We believe and ask for God’s mercy. Conversion, a change of heart and direction, is always a possibility. Our Tradition (emphasize the capital T) focuses on the love of God and His desire that all come to Him. To stone the person, whatever the sin, is to deny the person the grace and forgiveness of God.
God is merciful to the merciful.
There was a woman who pleaded with Napoleon for the life of her son. Napoleon asked, “What has he done to deserve mercy” to which the woman replied, “If he deserved it, then it would not be mercy.” Napoleon released the prisoner to his mother.
