Answering Seventh-Day Adventist polemics.

1. What’s deal with the alleged writing on the pope’s mitre, which supposedly states “vicarius filii dei,” totalling 666 numerically according to Roman numerals? What does the pope’s mitre say, if anything?
2. Secondly, what’s the deal with allegations regarding the Jesuits as pernicious conspirators, acting as spies, etc.?

The above stems from some “laughable” material given to me by a Seventh-Day Adventist; I do need help in formulating a clear and informed response.
