Anxiety about falling away and the narrow way

I feel like I’m under satanic attack. It seems that the fewness of the saved and the fact that salvation is hard and few will obtain it is something I keep getting fixated on. I know it’s partly my pride, and my baggage as a protestant wanting the good news to be easy, but I also struggle with scrupulosity and anxiety which makes all this other stuff worse. I get this brief sense of Christ’s goodness and that I should trust him, but I can’t seem to hang on to it for even five seconds. I don’t know what to do and I wanted to ask for prayer
 
Praying for your intentions. It seems you need to hear the good news of the Gospel instead of focusing on the bad news. Yes, there is bad news. We are all sinners. That is the bad news. The good news is that there is a remedy for this condition. And its called Jesus Christ. Jesus offers us the grace to not just forgive our sins but also to heal our souls so that we are no longer slaves to sin. To live according to God’s ways is to live in a way that will mean our own flourishing. To live in sin is to live in a way that is destructive to our souls. One way leads to happiness, the other to misery. Read Psalm 1 and you will see. Sin does not contribute to our flourishing as human beings but destroys us as human beings. It is the way to destruction. What makes the way to life difficult is our own disordered desires to sin. Our flesh, the sinful nature, that we must put to death by the Spirit. The sinful nature brings death. The Spirit brings life. It is a gift of grace that enables us to live by the Spirit. We can do nothing on our own. It is Christ who works in us that we put our faith and trust in. I pray that you will put your trust in him for he cares for you more than you do. And he cares for your Salvation more than you do. God’s will is that you be saved. Only you can stop that by choosing the wrong path. So don’t do it. Choose Christ instead and he will bring you safely to his Kingdom. Trust in Him. Meditate on His word. God is Our Father, not a Tyrant. He loves you. Receive His love for you. God bless.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

O Lady of Mental Peace,

Mother of Tranquility

look upon Bdonoho in this time

of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart

to know that God’s Love

for her is unchanging and

unchangeable, and, that

true human love can only

begin and grow by touching

His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -

hello everyone. First of all I want to thank everyone for their prayers. By the grace of God, and the intercession of the Virgin Mary, I have been able to find relief from this tendency towards anxiety and scrupulosity. I just thought I should update everyone on this since I didn’t want them to think this was still happening.

I have found Mary to be an altogether perfect guide and Spiritual Mother, and have given myself to her more fully and have tried to listen to Her Promptings. There have been failures, but I have also discovered the self-flaggelating guilt that happened every time I came to God for forgiveness was also not from Him, and I thank Mary for Her intercession, for She has made this journey of Faith altogether more hope-filled.
