I know boxing is sort of a dying sport, but are there boxing fans out there? My three favorite boxers of all time are Oscar De La Hoya (totally underrated!) Sugar Ray Leonard (sadly, he retired and un-retired 8 times, but he’s still a favorite of mine) and Evander Holyfield (he stayed on way too long, but in his prime he was great).

Yes.

The heavyweight division is the most exciting & packed that I’ve seen it in a long time, likely since a young Mike Tyson caught the attention of the world (which coincidentally, an older Mike Tyson is again catching people’s attention).

I’m excited about possibly seeing Joshua & Fury in a unification fight.

Whyte, Parker, Ruiz, Wilder, Pulev - I cant recall the heavyweight division being so full of genuine contenders.

There’s nothing like heavyweights when it comes to boxing in my opinion, but I’ve also loved watching Canelo & GGG over the past few years.

I didn’t see Sugar Ray Leonard during his prime but my father in law is a big fan and I have seen many of Sugar Ray’s fights on tape. And hearing Mike Tyson talk about Sugar Ray is something else.

Love boxing. I train at a local gym. I’m definitely not a fighter but I love the sport.

Great points about the heavyweight division. We’ve come a long way since the days of the early 2000’s when Calvin Brock and Joe Mesi were contenders!

When Ruiz beat Joshua in such a commanding way. I was stunned. And even though I know that most big upsets don’t happen twice (Spinks lost to Ali in the rematch, Rahman and McCall both lost to Lewis) I was a little disappointed to see him lose.

Well it looks like Ruiz is taking training very seriously again. Seems that Dillian Whyte is trying to get a fight there which I’d be happy to see.

Fury Wilder rematch still needs to happen since it got pushed back by the virus. Fury was in another world in their second fight though (and a lot of people think he won the first) so hopefully Wilder can find something to be a little more competitive.

I’d like to see Fury win it though, if for no other reason than I think a Fury Joshua unification fight will happen. I’m not so convinced that Joshua Wilder would actually happen.

Fun times ahead.

No. I don’t like boxing, never have. Can’t see any point or value in prize fighting, in beating someone senseless just to earn a title and the money that goes with it. It’s brutish and barbaric. We should be above that.

You can count me in as a fan of boxing. Not so much the western style though and absolutely not as audience only. I prefer the Thai version. If there is a fight between two particularly skilled fighters I might muster enough interest to watch it. But it is rare. And definetly not in the heavyweight division. That division is too slow in my opinion. I prefer the weight classes between say 120-150 lbs.

But as I said, I can’t really muster any interest to just watch fighting. I, on the other hand, love to fight. It is my favourite form of physical exercise and I have to this day not found a better way to see a persons true colors as during a fight.

One of my favorite boxers of all time is Kostya Tszyu, who was pretty small. Below welterweight.

Muay Thai? I used to follow much more closely when I was younger. I still keep an eye on a few fighters now, but not as much as I did in the past.

Have you had many amateur or pro fights?

No amateur but a few pro. Not as many as I would have liked to. It was hard to combine running a business and being a punching bag on a regular basis. 😅 I went to Thailand to train as often as I could and while being there I tried to fight every two or three weeks, depending on how much damage I took from the last fight.
