Nor have I read a single apologetic for the legitimacy of being Anglican versus Catholic. By Catholic, I mean, ‘Christians who affirm the primacy of the Bishop of Rome’.
I think Bishop Schori said it best when she said Episcopalians are better educated and have a finer sense of/perspective of the global situation in terms of envorinomental and stewardship issues (or something like that). That is why people are Anglican. When their IQ’s go down they will consider conversion to Rome.Nor have I read a single apologetic for the legitimary of being Anglican versus Catholic. There is some truth in that many (most) Baptists are very solidly behind traditional scriptural understanding. With all due respect, salvation is a gift. Baptists are much closer to Catholics than Anglicans regarding that truth. At least Baptists consider salvation to be something they are given, a gift of grace bestowed to them despite the fact they are sinners. The difference is that they know they are sinners.
AMIA does have Bishops ordained by the Rwandan Bishops and CANA has bishops ordained by the Nigerian Bishops. Considering Akinola has stated that the Nigerians will not be at Lambert if Canterbury does not change its mind and invite Minns…the fat lady has not sung yet on this one.AMIA is not recognized as being in Communion (on the web site). I think they are being cautious about in any way appearing to support these 3rd World Bishops who are pulling what ECUSA feels is ecclesiastical terrorism. On the other hand…if an African Bishop in Communion with Canterbury has made the decison to ordain and reocgnize parishes in the US they ARE in Communion.
HiI’m an Anglican, of a traditional flavor.

Anglicans hold to the Chalcedonian definition of the doctrine of God. That is the same teaching held by the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Churches, and all mainstream Protestant denominations.Hi
I respect your religion.
I have a little question for you, if you don’t mind answering it. Have the AnglicanGod different attributes with that of a JWsGod or MormonsGod .Please mention from some authoritative Anglical sources.
This is only for information and comparitive study of Christian denomination/faiths.
Please don’t mind.
Thanks

my gut pains with sympathy as i read this. i recently heard a talk from an Anglican Use priest so i hope you are able to use your knowledge to help those in the struggle as well. may God bless you on your journey.I am an Anglican. And like former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey, I am often ashamed of that fact.
I have come the the conclusion that the Church founded by Jesus Christ necessarily has a Magisterium. If the Church is the mystical Body of Christ whose Soul is the Spirit of Truth, then the mind of the Church, a faculty of the Soul, must possess infallibility since God cannot fail or teach error.
Anglicans have a limited Magisterium in the sensus fidelium, the sense of the Faithful, as she, like all Christian Churches and ecclesial communities are composed of Christians, who are indwelt by the Spirit through Baptism. We also (claim that we) have Bishops in Apostolic Succession. (I know Leo XIII was advised to deny this claim by a slim majority of theologians, and then wrote a Bull claiming our Orders are null and void).
But we do not have Peter’s Successor amongst our collegium episcoporum (college of bishops). So we do not possess the fulness of the Magisterium. And that increasingly bothers me. For truly, as St Ambrose said, Ubi Petrus, ibi Ecclesiam. (Where Peter is, there is the Church).
That’s a rant. But yes, I’m an Anglican. Any other Anglicans bothered that we don’t acknowledge the Petrine Succession as an Article of Religion, but plainly deny it?
Beautifully expressed. And so true.I am an Anglican. And like former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey, I am often ashamed of that fact.
