Hi and God bless!

I was recently confirmed with the name “Thomas Aquinas” and although I have read many of his works, am slowly savoring the Summa, and have read short internet biographies on him and also biographies in his texts, I wanted to know:

Is there a biography (in book-form) of his that is written from a Catholic or at least philosophically neutral perspective that I could get my hands on?

Any help would be appreciated,

Aaron

Della:
The best book ever written about St. Thomas Aquinas is: Saint Thomas Aquinas (the original title was: The Dumb Ox because that is what his fellow classmates at university called him because he said so little but was a very large man). It’s by G. K. Chesterton, an incomparable writer of whom you will want read much more: G. K. Chesterton’s Works on the Web and The American Chesterton Society.
I second this one. It’s great.

God bless,

Agricola

You’re welcome. I’m not a Thomast, by any means, but from what those who are have said, Chesterton’s book gives students of Aquinas a spiritual base from which to read St. Thomas–and helps them understand the man behind all the cool, deep logic of his arguments. I hope it proves helpful to you. 🙂
