I am looking for groups that promote the Tridentine Mass and are completely loyal to Rome, and do not promote dissent or disobedience against Church authorities.

I do not want to associate with groups that in any way endorse the activities of the late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.

I know that there are some groups that support attendance at Indult Masses, but yet needlessly criticise the Indult.

Some Tridentine Mass groups also seem to have a sense of entitlement, something along the lines of “We deserve the Tridentine Mass, and we demand that you give it to us”.

So I don’t want a group that has this sense of entitlement. I also don’t want a group that thinks that the Novus Ordo Mass is a sacrilege.

Thanks for your help!🙂

Hello,

I think you are looking for the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter. They are a society that is completely loyal to and has the complete backing of the Holy See. Their website is:

fssp.org/en/index.htm

I hope this helps.

I know about them. There is, I believe, an element in the FSSP that tends towards the schismatic, although I know that the group itself is 100% approved by Rome.👍

I was thinking of associations that lay people could join, that are FULLY loyal to Rome, do not have their own weird aganda, and just love the Tridentine Mass for what it is, and do not think that the Novus Ordo Mass is a sacreligious heresy.

What do you mean by schismatic element? Please explain this quote because I have never heard anything like this before.

Dear Brother/Sister GoLatin,

I personally know 3 Priests and 1 Deacon that are members of the FSSP. I would not characterize them as having A schismatic attitude. Though they may have members in the Fraternity, who hold such views. I dont really know.

This is what I have observed from my limited exposure to them.
A. Critical of the way VII was implemented.
B. Highly critical of the “Cult of personality” surronding JPII
C. Highly critical of the Faithful chasing after Marian apparitions.
D. critical of the mingling of rites, as happens in some Indult Parishes.
These 4 things are the ones that come to mind, as the most striking. On these 4 things, I happen to agree, (And many others) I think they are wonderful group of Holy Priests. They wont steer you wrong.
God Bless

Do you mean they would be highly critical of chasing “unapproved” apparitions, like Medjugorje? Or Marian apparitions in general, like Fatima and Lourdes? Seems the answer is clear, but I wanted to check.

Denis Leary did a good bit on how certain groups of people seem to find the Blessed Mother everywhere, to include a muffin. It was very very funny but sadly its kind of true.

Maybe we can start in the CAF through private message if the moderators will not allow us to organise in here.
