It is my understanding that a special Plenary Indulgence is given to a person at the time of death if they wear / touch / hold the Medal or Cross of St. Benedict if they confess their sins and receive Holy Communion and if that is not possible, then to invoke with their lips or in their hearts the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary.
I’ve been wearing a regular crucifix – never taking it off for over a quarter of a century. Is there any Plenary Indulgence associated with a REGULAR crucifix at the time of death? Or should I be ‘trading’ it in for a St. Benedict medal /cross?
