I am not one but I’m not sure what you’re saying because Italo- Albanians have never been out of communion with the pope of Rome. I don’t know maybe it’s a cultural difference but I’m not understanding what you’re saying.

I am doing some research atm, into the Italo-Albanian Arbereshe culture, geneology etc, of those communities that settled in, or originated from Southern Italy.
From reading, this culture has been quite traditionally preserved over the centuries.

Not knowing anything about Eastern Orthodox religions, I am reading their church is either Arbereshe Orthodox or Italo-Albanian Byzantine Catholic Church. Not sure if they are the same church. I read something about these Churches being founded pre Schism so stiĺl in Communion with Rome. Not that I know what that really means at this point .

It would be nice to chat with people in those communities.

Its a pretty small group, but they do have a congregation here in the United States, just one, in Vegas.

You may want to visit or write them there.
Thanks so much Kielbasi. I will write, living in Aus.

I am a member of Our Lady of Wisdom, Las Vegas, Nevada, an Italo Greek Church. The Italo Greeks in southern Italy almost died out at the conclusion of the Byzantine wars when the Greek bishops were replaced by Roman bishops. Later the entry of the Albanians into Southern Italy (Italo Albanians) rescued the Byzantine Catholics. The Italo Greeks are now part of the Italo Albanians. There may be another congregation in Louisiana, I am not sure.

Do you know when the Italo Greeks came to America, and did most of you all settle in Vegas, or are you all spread out and only in Vegas (and perhaps Louisiana) there were enough to organize a church?

Are you under the Latin bishop?

No, we are under the Reuthenian Eparch of Phoenix. There is a shrine on Staten Island, I do not recall the name right now.

It’s called Our Lady of Grace. I believe that they host a DL once per month at rotating locations. Given the percentage of ethnic Southern Italians in Staten Island it’s only natural that they would have a presence there.
