Any non-catholic-Christian 'Christmas Eve' traditions out there?

My Catholic/Slovak tradition includes non meat, mostly bread based ethnic dishes as well as praying for the dead while eating Oplatki dipped in honey.

Oplatki is most likely a popular attribute because Bethlehem means “House of Bread”, and Oplatki is a kind of bread wafer.

A tradition that started in my house as a child that I’ve kept as an adult, is that the story of the Nativity was read from Luke chapter 2, then we were allowed to open one present.

My family attends the Christmas Eve candlelight service at our church. It’s a very pleasant thing and has been our tradition for decades at this point.
