Yes, it is written by a drug/alcohol addict. It isn’t depressing, but it isn’t uplifting all the time either. I didn’t have a hard time reading it, although, it isn’t easy to read, sometimes it is very dificult, but it was so captivating. Honestly, the story is so amazing, I couldn’t put it down, I read it in 2 days and the second book in 1 day. He wrote with such passion and emotion, he is able to put the reader right into his life, he is an excellent writer

I recommend this book to everyone, there is bad language, but given the circumstances in the book it seems appropriate.
