Any point to prayers and devotions if in mortal sin?

Long story short, I committed a mortal sin, regretted it about two minutes later, and made an act of contrition. I’m going to Confession ASAP, which will hopefully be Saturday but may be longer because my car is at the mechanic. Is there any point in rosaries, chaplets or other devotions in the meantime? i’m sufficiently miserable that I’m having trouble focusing on my usual prayers.
 
Keep on praying! God is always present, always listening, always merciful.
 
Remember that the Catechism says;

Only God Forgives Sins.

When you sin and turn to God with a contrite heart, he forgives you.

You on your part will go to Confession to reconcile yourself to the Church and receive the grace of the sacrament.

So, do not stop praying and know that God has forgiven you.

Conversion is turning to back to God.
You have already done that when you repented of your sin with a contrite heart.
Prayer is communication, a “lifting up of [your] heart and mind to God.”
Absolutely continue prayer.
You are in the correct mind set as you go to confession to hear those wonderful words of absolution that the priest speaks, those words of mercy and not of condemnation.
God loves you and embraces you with open arms. Of course He wants to hear your voice. Don’t let anybody mislead you into thinking that the continued prayer of a repentant sinner doesn’t matter.

Hi. The answer is definitely yes.🙂

The necessity for prayers have no bearing on our sins. We say our prayers whether or not we have committed sins. In fact, we should pray more when we sin. You did the right thing to regret and made an act of contrition, but it would be really good to go into meaningful prayers. God may already has forgiven you of your sin; you going for Confession would be just the formality.

There is nothing to lose in praying but much to gain; and more so to pray when we sinned.
