Just curious if there are any fellow comp sci Catholics out there. Currently a student and from what I can tell, not very many Christians in the field.
I can’t say I’m harassed about it. Everyone’s nice enough to me. When some of my colleagues were going to lunch and I said I couldn’t eat meat due to it being a Lenten Friday, we went out to a place with meatless options and no one complained about it. I don’t shove it down their throats, and they don’t mock me for my beliefs. We’re there to work, and so long as things get done, we’re all on good terms with each other.Would you say you have been treated kindly in the industry?
You’re going to be a junior developer. Know that you’ve still got plenty to learn about coding. Put yourself out there and learn new skills. Try new things. Find good senior developers to learn from, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. In industry, the main two things that matter are functioning and efficient code: don’t let perfection be the enemy of good.Any tips for working in the industry. I am a senior and graduate next fall and don’t know any professional and would love some tips.
As I might have said or implied earlier, I am not in that industry, but looking at the big picture, I would guess that the best thing you can do is to cultivate curiosity and imagination.Any tips for working in the industry.
