Any Star Gate fans out there?

So if there are any Catholics out there who like it, we can discuss it here. The show has taken an interesting turn in the past year that I havent’ particularly liked and I’m interested to see what other people say about it.

on a lighter part of the discussion, who’s your fave charactor? I miss Jack and Hammond of Texas.

Anyway, I hope I get some good responses.

I have a strong dislike of Stargate. I think it is an evil parasite that sucks energy away from better shows. Because Sci-Fi shows reruns all the time, I did watch it for a while a few years ago, and there were some parts that were pretty good. On the whole, though, it is full of cliches and I don’t understand why people like it so much.

I have found the last season completely unwatchable.

I lost interest when the original cast broke up. When did that guy and gal from Farscape get into the ensemble, anyway? And the Ori, who the heck were they?

Watched the final ep, thought it was weak. Did like that it was preceded by my favorite ep, the one with the time loops.
 
Yes, I thought the original cast–especially O’Neill–were good. And some of the stories were good for a while, but I thought the basic world-building was far inferior to the other major sci-fi shows I’m familiar with–Star Trek, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Farscape (though I haven’t seen a lot of Farscape), Firefly. . . and I was annoyed when Farscape, Enterprise, and Firefly were all prematurely canceled and Stargate just kept sailing on!

I only liked the original movie with kurt russel. i don’t care for the series.
