Any Traditionalist Catholic churches in New York?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know where I can find a traditionalist Catholic church in the tri-state New York area. I am a new seeker and all the churches I’ve visited within the past two years seem to have very liberal policies that contradict Catholic laws and traditions.

If you are looking for parishes with the indult, there are several in the Archdiocese of New York itself (which would qualify as the tri-state area)…

Bronx: St. Benedict and Our Lady of Peace look like they alternate first and third sundays.

Manhatten: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. Agnes

Poughkeepsie: St. Joseph

Sleepy Hollow: Immaculate Conception

Tuxedo Park: Our Lady of Mount Carmel

What about St Patricks Cathedral in NY? Just a thought.

While I cannot speak for current practices, (in the south now), there are some very wonderful cathedrals in Jersey City that have been long attended by many I know and have a reputation of being quite traditional. It isn’t hard to get there from the city by train. Hope this helps,

Does St. Patrick’s do the Tridentine Latin Mass? I’m moving to New Rochelle in a couple of weeks and needed suggestions on a nice Cathedral for the Novus Ordo and one where I could try out the TLM. Any suggestions? Sorry to piggyback this thread, but my question was so similar.

I don’t mind a reasonable commute to the location if it’s worth it. Thanks.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral does not have the Tridentine Mass.

**St. Agnes **(near Grand Central Station, and former home Church of Fulton Sheen) is famous for its TLM and Choir.

Another parish with the TLM that has not been mentioned is Sacred Heart of Jesus in Port Chester, very near to New Rochelle.

I strongly reccomend Sacred Heart in Port Chester, for those in and around Westchester County (about 30 min. north of NYC).

The pastor is a very holy and traditional priest, who has kept working in spite of being over 80, and in poor health. He is also very learned, he speaks 6+ languages, and gives great homilies.

The parish offers TLM, Polish, Spanish, English, and Syro-Malabar masses to serve a very diverse parish.
