Any Twilight Zone Marathoners?

Yes, there was–the one that comes to mind is “A Quality of Mercy”

My personal favorites:

“Time Enough at Last”

“Judgment Night”

“Purple Testament”

“Night of the Meek”

“The Obsolete Man”

“The Masks”
Where can I watch that episode? :

The marathon didn’t disappoint! I only wish it had been a little longer, so I could have seen more episodes.

I’ll be searching the TV listings to see when TZ is normally on in my area. I know it is on the ME channel, and I’m assuming it’s also on SyFy.

Does anyone else love what the main character does to Rod Serling in “A World of His Own”?

Looking forward now to the New Year’s Day TZ Marathon, competing with The Honeymooners Blowout. In between is the vastness of space and the timelessness of infinity.

I can’t recall the name of the episode… but my favourite Twilight Zone episode is the future dystopia in which Communism has taken over, all talk of the spiritual is banned and humans are categorised into functions. The story follows a janitor (I think he was) who has just become “obsolete.” He kidnaps one of the Communists and eventually scares the Commie into pleading, and eventually (in his hysteria) calling out to God, at which point the Commie also becomes obsolete.

I also liked the episode where the Sun is blotted away by man’s transgressions and sins, thereby covering the world in darkness.

This thread makes me want to start socking money away for to buy the series. Twlight Zone was definitely one of my favourite shows.

I think the episode you were referring to is “The Obsolete Man”. I recall watching that episode last year. 🙂
It was, one of my favorite episodes as well. :bounce:
The lesson from that episode tends to apply even to the Occupy Movement.

These are the episodes that I need to watch are “A Passage for Trumpet”, “A Quality of Mercy”, “Deaths-Head Revisited” (again), “The Mirror”, “The Trade-Ins”, “I Sing The Body Electric” (again) and probably “Two”. 🙂
And yes, the episode “Deaths-Head Revisited” was truly inspiring. 🙂 The lesson of that episode resonates even today.

Anyone see the episode where a gambler dies and his afterlife is a casino? He wins every night until he grows tired of it and decides he no longer wants to be in Heaven only to find out where he really is.

Hi Kevin,
I think (“A Nice Place to Visit,”) may be the episode you are referring to…
A thug gets shot while committing a crime and then “wakes up” to realize he’s now dead. He meets an angel in an immaculate white suit that sets him up in a beautiful apartment with all of his desires (lots of women, money and cars) taken care of. Soon however, the thug gets frustrated because everything is always perfect: The women are all perfect, he never loses at gambling or billiards, things always go his way. After awhile, he’s so bored, he tells his angel that he’d really rather go to the “other place.” The “angel” then lets out a blood-curdling, sinister laugh and says, " This is the other place ! "

I love Twilight Zone, but unfortunately, I did not have the time to catch any of the marathon this week. 😦 The things I have to give up for the sake of my children. sigh

Oh well, there’s always next year. 😛

“The Mind and The Matter” with Shelley Berman, is also one of my favourites. I forgot to mention it the last time.

I love the comedy of that episode…
