Anybody interested in the Spanish Civil war?

People say it’s the first battle of WWII. For me it’s the first battle of the Cold War. Spain entered the Cold War early, as did Finland, with its Winter War against the Soviet Union
 
The only Americans who fought in that war were communists on the Abraham Lincoln brigade against Franco
 
I had a pastor 30 years ago who brought up the martyrs of the Spanish Civil War in about every homily.
Also, who can forget “Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.”
I still miss John Chancellor though.

i lived in Spain when Franco was still in power. i had to study Spanish history, but i am sad to say i really understand little about the Spanish Civil War and recently I have wanted to learn more.
