I’m a member of several different web forums for various topics (automotive, general chat, health and fitness, etc.) and they all have sections similar to our “Water Cooler”. Many times in these “Water Cooler” sections the topics will turn to moral issues and religion. It seems there is a disproportionate number of atheists/agnostics, immoral, and general Christian hating people on these boards.

So I was just wondering if anybody here tries to defend Catholic doctrine (or even just Christianity in general!) on any other web boards besides this one. These other boards can definitely use an influx of members with some faith and properly formed consciences.

I do. My Lutheran friend got me involved in my first chat board because someone was shooting off their pie-hole about Catholicism and he invited me to come and defend myself.

The board closed and most of the people went to another one. That one closed and most again went to another.

By the third, even though he was Lutheran, he knew most of the arguments and if he got there first, would actually defend Catholicism!

At one point I was hanging out on 2 different non-catholic christian boards defending the faith. At another I was hanging out at one of those and the SecWeb.

Now I’m just hanging out at one - but it’s a pretty good board. There’s more mutual respect and fellowship than mud-slinging.

I spend a bit of time at this one: /catholic.htmcarm.org - it’s one of those boards where one finds immensely long threads, so one has to be a regular, or a very early poster, to get read. The webmaster is Calvinist, but IMO he doesn’t let that bias him unduly.

This Catholic board has several boards: catholic-forum.com/churches/communion/eng/english.shtml

It’s Canadian, so there is also a French version of the site.
