Anyone a member of T.O.R.C.H.?

I’m looking for homeschooling support groups in my local area and I’m not coming up with much. I’ve found Traditions of Roman Catholic Homes (T.O.R.C.H.) which are basically homeschooling support groups but are Roman Catholic families. I have found one in a semi-local area (about 15-20 miles away) but from what I’m seeing of the general group (not this local one)… it looks rather interesting. I plan to call the person named as being in charge of this local group soon, but is anyone a member of their local chapter? And if so, how do you like it, what types of activities do you do? Thanks!!!

I was a member of a T.O.R.C.H. group for several years. It was a wonderful experience for my husband, children and me. We all grew so much spiritually and developed friendships that continue to this day, even though we live several hundreds of miles away. The group that I was involoved with was just great. I can’t recommend T.O.R.C.H. highly enough.

As for activities we met once a month for First Friday Mass and confessions. The kids then participated in age appropriate groups such as Little Flowers, Blue Knights, Youth Group, and even groups for pre-schoolers/toddlers. We had a once a month Parents Night Out where we enjoyed a pot-luck dinner and a spiritual talk usually given by our spiritual advisor priest. We also had a monthly luncheon for the moms where we prayed the rosary and discussed group business, etc. Once or twice a year we also had a one day retreat for parents. Of course there were plently of field trips and activities planned for the kids as well (usually at least twice a month).

Our kids are older now; we no longer feel a need to belong.

We had book clubs, First Friday Mass w/ activity and confessions, Little Flowers, field trips, moms nights out, family picnics etc.
