I hope this is the right section of CAF. It seems to me that most of those interested in this conference will be Traditional or Traditional-sympathetic Catholics. But please move it if there is a better place for the thread.

Is anyone going to the Queen of the Americas Guild “Touched By Her Gaze” conference next week in LaCrosse, WI?

I am, and I’m really looking forward to spending time with Jesus and His Mother, Our Lady! I need this!

Also looking forward to hearing Cardinal Burke and the other speakers–what a privilege!

I didn’t book a room in the hotel, but in a cheap hotel a short drive away. I don’t expect to spend that much time in my hotel room anyway. If you haven’t gotten a hotel room, good luck. I had no idea that this area of Wisconsin was so pricey, but I guess it’s considered “tourist.” Wow. I honestly expected to be able to find a room for under $50. Silly me!

But the price of the Conference is very reasonable. I paid $49 for all the events other than the meals (which I will opt out of in order to hopefully eat sparsely so that I can focus on the Conference).

See you there?! 🙂

The Mass is almost certain to be a OF. What I wonder is if it will have heavily-leaning traddie elements a la Cardinal Burke style… Anyone remember his OF Mass at the London Oratory this year? Gloves, buskins and sandals, cappa, and as I said, OF.

I probably sound like a screwed-up-priorities youth!

Wow, pray for me; and/or put me on a prayer list. --Gerard

Don’t forget, Blessed Mother is “blessed among women” versus Hannah, Samuel’s mother who his “blessed above women.” So the Genesis 3:15 mandate for her, and through her, her Seed. “Seed” here is also a collective term nicely denoting the Body of Christ, meaning we are all in it to win it. Pray we will triumph through any persecution as noted in Apocalypse 12 where her “other children” are persecuted. May there be universal devotion to and exaltation of the Immaculate Heart, her purity of intent that we all desire. May God grant us final perseverance and the peace of Jesus Christ. PS Let us know how this comes out and any links to speakers, please. Thanks and God bless you all.

I assumed that the Mass would be OF, since it will be offered in a convention center, and since no instructions otherwise were given in the conference information packet. I would think that they would want to specify if it were TLM so that ladies like myself would wear a dress and bring something besides a summer straw hat to cover our heads.

I have actually written to the LOC to ask a question about costs, and the very kind woman who responded didn’t mention anything about a TLM.

Cat, please pray for me and my intentions while you are there. You are most fortunate to be able to attend.

Please come back and give us a first hand report of how it went.

Thanks, and God bless you!

It is my understanding the conference is at the shrine. Mass would be in the shrine church, I would think.

Also, the meals appear to be at the shrine, and the chef at Culina Mariana is awesome!!! I recommend it.

The shrine is absolutely magnificent.

Thanks so much. I’m sure you’re correct. Having never been there, I’m not at all sure what to expect, other than graces from the Lord.

Lormar, I will pray for you and your intentions. I agree, I am quite blessed to have this opportunity.
