Has anyone purchased the Click to Pray eRosary? Just wondering about some of the specifics of how it works.

I do!

It is definitely new tech, and as such, it isn’t perfect.

It connects to your device via Bluetooth and is intended to keep track of each prayer in the rosary sequence. I found that I fidget too much when I’m praying, so the bracelet actually gets in the way for me - because it advances before I am ready.

However, I do feel that it is well made and feels nice on the wrist. I typically wear it during sleep - both as a reminder to pray in the morning and as a way to settle my thoughts on nights where sleep doesn’t come easily.

Perhaps the biggest thing about it, (for me, at least), is that linking the bracelet to an account opens up two themes in the application - which I love.

So the app follows along with your physical movement along the beads? (I still need to watch the video on the website, but I’m always disappointed when there isn’t more verbiage and screenshots about a product.)

Yes - much like a step tracker, it counts the movement as a prayer completed.

Definitely download the app & see if you enjoy praying with it. (It is free to use.)
For me, the bracelet has turned into an expensive rosary because I turn off Bluetooth when I’m using the app.

Also, compare prices. I bought mine from amazon in Italy in early December and it was significantly less expensive than purchasing in the US. (Plus, when I got mine, it was not yet available in the US, but I was very surprised by the price difference when it did become available.)

I’m not sure, functionally, if it’s worth the price because, (for me), it does not serve the function that it is designed for - I fidget too much! - but now that I do have it, I’ve found it to be comfortable and I like sleeping with it around my wrist.

Laudate in the app store. Been using it for years.
#1 Catholic app.

Thanks. I have that, too. I’m asking about a specific product, though.

Here’s a close-up pic of the construction.
The beads are held together by a stretchy cord. There are no knots between them, and no clasp. At first, I was concerned about its durability, but so far, for me, it has retained its original size and easily slides onto my wrist, where it stays until I slide it off.

You may select the background music & you may begin anywhere, though the app is designed to smoothly flow/auto-advance through the rosary.

You do not need the beads to use the app - you can keep track of how many prayers you’ve said by tapping the screen. When the required number are all yellow, it advances to the next step.

If you have connected a bracelet, the beads will automatically “tap” those yellow markers when they are moved.

The second pic here shows the opened themes. Only “Standard” is available without purchase.

I do like how the app keeps track of the number of rosaries prayed as well as the number of hours prayed in the current month. The total rosaries prayed is a running total, but the time of prayer resets monthly. (I started using the app before I purchased the bracelet, so the numbers reflect about 3 months of use.)

If there are any other specifics that I missed, please let me know & I’ll do my best to answer them.

Overall, I do like it, but the design is a little too masculine for me, (for daytime wearing.) I love how it feels on the wrist and enjoy wearing it at night - (no more rosary beads lost in the sheets or worse, scattered from being broken during the night…)

The bracelet itself has a nice weight - substantial and solid, but not too heavy.

I am disappointed that (for me) the bracelet doesn’t work with the app as intended, but I can see it working for someone who is calmer during their meditations.

Also, while it does count steps, (accessed by clicking on the small heart icon in the app), it’s pretty pared down compared to a dedicated fitness app. I compared recorded steps with my Fitbit and it was pretty close.

@KBS
Thank you for sharing the details, pics, and your experience. That’s precisely what I was looking for in my decision making process. I’ve already installed the app. Bless you! Now to just give some discernment to the cost… 😁

You’re welcome!

I thought I’d post a couple of other thoughts, in case others are interested …

The image on the left is the interface for the step tracker & the image on the right is the Additional Prayers icon.

Note in the Additional Prayers screen the numbers of monthly users.

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Often, when I am doing my rosary, I add in the daily prayers and enjoy seeing that others have too.
I’ve noticed that typically there are about 50 of us who try to do the daily morning & evening prayers. (Less for the afternoon.)

Sadly, the number of monthly devotions with this app seems to be declining. When the bracelet launched, there were over 300 monthly users and here we are, at the last week of February & we haven’t even crossed the 100 mark.

This tells me that perhaps interest was there upon launch but is already beginning to fade. As with most products, if there isn’t enough interest, resources towards development tend to dry up too.

Based on the declining usage numbers so early after its launch, I would not be surprised if this product is abandoned. I hope this is not the case, as it is a nice way to bring more people into the rosary - but that price point is so high for a product (with such a narrow audience) that doesn’t function seamlessly.

I’d say, keep an eye on the price - mine totaled about $89 USD, but I waited a month for it to be processed & shipped from Italy. It’s crazy that US vendors are selling it for $129 AND adding shipping! If interest continues to slide, I wouldn’t be surprised if the price came back down a bit.
