Anyone heard of God Calling?

I wondered if anyone here has ever heard of the book God Calling by AJ Russel? My grandmother showed me a passage for today for example. It really spoke to me, I’ve seen conflicting reports on it though. I really feel called to purchase it, but just wanted to see what others thoughts were.
 
I saw that article, but the messages seem to just bring you closer to God. How can that be bad?
 
When Eve looked on the forbidden fruit she saw that it was pleasing to the eye and good to eat.

Sin and evil always look, taste, feels good. Would anyone succumb to sin if it were smelly, ugly and scratchy?
 
Why do you say new age spiritual? What does that mean? How exactly is this book bad? Also all the reviews on Amazon are amazing. It really is bringing people closer to God. Why would that be bad?

It uses an old spiritism (occult) practice of “spirit writing” and also has new age influences.

It is nothing that an Christian has any business reading.
 
You are getting all your information from 1 review. She read me today’s message for ex and nothing about it drew me away from God. It was spot on so much so is felt weird. I just wondered if anyone else read any messages? Does anyone have any experience with this book? It was originally written in the 30s, if it was so bad wouldn’t people of shunned it from the beginning? Thank you.
 
Thank you for these, i knew something was off. My grandma had this book given as a gift over 10 years ago. She loves it and has been through it multiple times. Should I️ even bring this up to her i feel it would just upset her?
 
If she had a box of candy that was laced with poison and she loved the candy, ate a little bit every day, you would warn her.
