I’ve recently started to learn how to catch fish. While learning about different rigs I came across this rig called the “paternoster rig”.
I immediately thought of “Our Father”. I know pater noster isn’t of any modern language but it’s very similar to Italian.
So I did a google search and it turns out the pater noster was Latin for our father.
I tried to find out why or how this rig got that name but found nothing.
Does anyone know how Our Father got a fishing rig named after him?
A speculative guess: Maybe Jesus taught man this fishing rig…
Maybe that’s how he turned two fish into so many, taught everyone this rig so they all went out and caught fish… Who knows…
One thing is for sure I will feel like praying now when I go fishing which is a terrific concept I think… I won’t be praying to catch fish I will still be praying for my usual things…
Does anyone else pray while waiting for the fish to bite?
