I have the same problem! Next month will be a year that I’ve worn mine, and both ends are coming undone. I have each end tied right now. I don’t even shower in it because I thought that would make it last a little longer. shrug

I’m thirding Rose Scapular. Best scapulars on the market. Though I suppose you might find ones made my Carmelite nuns that are better quality. 😛

A 4th for Rose Scapular Company. My local Catholic book store carries them and they have been great. I wear mine 24/7 but only shower in it when I want to clean it. It has lasted a year and a half and while it is ‘worn’ looking is not at all ‘worn out’. I have given them to others as small gifts and only heard positive things back.

the five fold scapular contains the brown as one of the 5 and i have yet to wear one out or have one break and i have wear it every day, i’m guessing it’s about 2-3 year old at this stage

A fifth for Rose Scapular Company. They have one with heavier cords.

My husbands is always breaking. Thanks.
I know I mentioned this in several threads already but if you would like a Free Our lady of Mount Carmel (Brown) Scapular. I would suggest you write to the Scapular Guild:

You can request up to 20-25 Free Brown Scapulars. I know I mention they are Free but a Donation always comes in handy.

You can also go to the Carmelite Friars website (gifts) and request a Free Brown Scapular from there (Scroll to the bottom)

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, pray for us. Amen.

Chiming in with the ‘Rose Scapular’ chorus. I’ve had mine for a little over a year and it has yet to break or become terribly worn. There’s only some fraying of the panel in which the medals hang near, but the stitches are intact.

The best brown scapulars are the ones that are titled Traditional or Best brown scapular. they are 100% wool and usually come with a crucifix and st. benedict medal. They last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years without taking them off at all.

Hi~
I make brown scapulars, and thanks be to God have had good success with their durability. Here is a link to a couple of listings on ebay- ebay.com/itm/310860619720?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 and another- ebay.com/itm/310644972171?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649.

If you decide you’d like one, and would like a different cord length, I can customize it to fit your needs. I also have crucifixes and St. Benedict Medals on hand if you’d like them as well.

Have a great night and God bless!

Lori

Those are very beautiful CathMomofMany! You and your customers must be very thankful to God! 🙂

Thank you, Shin, and thanks be to God! I started making them for the very reason this thread was started. My kiddos were breaking them faster than I could afford to buy them, so I set out to find some materials that wouldn’t break so easily. Thanks be to God, they’re pretty durable and we wear them now until they start looking too worn.
