Hey yall anyone know the name of this song? i heard it in church and i love it! i was hoping to find it on a CD somewhere maybe. well here are the lyrics that i can remember

long have i waited for your coming home to me and living deeply our new lives.

its beutiful, kind of slow in the early parts of it. they did it on the guitar only and one singer. it was really touching. i would love to know the name of it if you can help me out!

Thanks!
Tara

It’s called “Hosea” in your music missal…my 7 year olds favorite song…I had to take her to adoration for an hour a few weeks ago and we flippedthrough the entire music book to look for the words because the name isn’t in the lyrics (to keep her occupied)! Funny you asked this.

I don’t know where you could find it, but I just want to say I think this song is so beautiful! 🙂

ETA: I found this website after searching. gregorynorbet.org/

thank you so much! i found it and got to hear it! 🙂 thanks again!

The Monks at Weston Priory (Vermont) sang it; I probably heard it and sang it before you were BORN, Tarashly (eek, what a sobering thought) since that’s my neck o’ the woods.

Here’s a link to the music site–and you can order “Listen” (scroll down to that CD) which has “Hosea” on it.

Enjoy!

Yeah, Gregory Norbet used to be with the Weston Priory.

Ayup. I feel about 100 years old now, LOL. I don’t have the CDs but I have buckets of sheet music with Weston Priory songs that we did in the college folk group. The harmonies! Sigh. One problem, listening to “Hosea” in church nowadays it’s usually done in boring unison, nobody does the flute or recorder descants, and our keyboardist always plays every single piece of music, hymn, acclamation, you name it, ending with a swooping, plink–plink-plinketyplinketyplinketyplinketyPLINK! ARRRRRRRGH.

lol! youre probably right! i heard it in Church last week, and it just touched my heart so much! it was a little different than what i heard at the Norbert site, but still very pretty. i loved it on the acoustic guitar song by the soloist at our church who has a very folky sound to him. of course my favorite rendition of Ave Maria was on an acoustic guitar song by a soloist. thats how i had it at my wedding. so beautiful!
