as I have said before - there are several threads on John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila, check them out, some very good stuff there – I was introduced to his poetry at a retreat a few years ago, and started learning Spanish not only because of my job, but because I want to read and appreciate the poetry in the original Spanish. Institute of Carmelite Studies in Washington DC has his works, and books about him and his thought. Since I found how deeply our late pope was influenced by him, he has even more meaning for me. I have a director I see about once a year who helps me understand the stages of the spiritual journey, where I am, where I am going.
