My parents dragged me off to a Jeff Cavins seminar the year before last, saying that if we went we could get a faster internet connection. I still have dial-up, but the seminar was great!

I’m so jealous with all the people who could attend talk by Jeff Cavins, Scott Hahn, etc etc. It’s almost impossible here.

My mother has quite a collection of tapes and such about Bible study. She plays them whenever she can, which is whenever we aren’t in the car

My parish did the Little Rock bible study a few years ago and I wouldn’t recommend it. It was okay, nothing strange or anything. I just really expected more from the series than we got. There was no “real” teaching like most think they’ll get from a bible study. All each participant did was read the assigned reading and answer questions at the end of the chapter and then get together one night to discuss what “we got from it” and look at a video about the chapter.
That’s not a bible study to me. I’ve reviewed the GBS and want so much to buy it for my parish but we just can’t right now. Since Katrina hit and wiped out our entire parish, we’ve been worshipping in a renovated skating rink in town along with having our elementary school in the same building. We have no facilities to do this.
Maybe when we rebuild we can look at this. I’m just drooling for it!!!

I have the Ignatius Study Bible gospels and acts. I supplement them with the Navarre study bible. I like them because I am doing bible study by myself and don’t think I could cope with anything at a deeper level. I have gained a much deeper insight of Scripture since using the Ignatius series.
