Oh, and the statue on top of the Capitol dome is “Armed Freedom” not Columbia, as was indicated in one of the youtube videos you referenced.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statue_of_Freedom
The videos not 100% accurate. Many have done connections with all sorts of things. The maker was just one who followed it. Its strange though how the statues resemble the ancient statues for dietys.

I suppose I don’t really see the point of having gone to the trouble to make the video and put it out on the web but not the trouble to make it accurate.🤷

Yes, as you point out, many have done connections with all sorts of things. Doesn’t actually mean they have any connection whatsoever, and frequently it means that even if they do happen have some connection, it isn’t the one that the person is claiming.

For instance, I could point out that there is a connection between soft serve chocolate ice cream and dog poo. After all, they are both brown, so there is indeed a connection that can be made if one wants to find a reason to do so badly enough. Of course that totally ignores the myriad ways in which they are different, almost all of which are more important to the understanding of usage of the substances than the color. It doesn’t mean that when people see the one they are unable to discriminate it from the other or that they are interchangable in usage or that people really believe they are serving dog poo when they give you chocolate ice cream or that you believe you are actually eating such.

It’s not strange at all. It was a very deliberate choice on the part of the artist. The founders were highly influenced by the Classical tradition, in art and in philosophy. The allegorical representation of ideals/concepts/etc in anthropomorphic form was a very common artistic convention at the time. Though truly, it really is not that much different in intent from the statues of the Gods–it puts a human face on something or someone who humans are not able to see directly to make a greater connection and make such more accessible. It’s what Michaelangelo did with the portrait of God on the Sistine Chapel.

I am sorry for posting this so late - but I have been thinking about this lately. I am starting to question whether the culture of our nation, or possibly capitalism and even socialismn or communism, subsist on human sacrifice - whether it be grown-ups or embryos. I don’t know if the language or terminology for this has been accuratley articulating what is going on here. Thanks.
