(a) Be careful. The world is becoming increasingly anti-Catholic. You are liable to lose your job for talking Catholic.
(2) Re Judaism, the answer of Christianity is simple: Christianity is foreshadowed in Hebrew/Jewish Scriptures to an overwhelming extent, that in my opinion is shattering to many Jews.
When God condemns the serpent in Genesis, He tells the serpent…
“**15 **I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will strike at your head, while you strike at his heel.” Genesis 3:15.
That is a foreshadowing of the cross piercing the dust at “Skull Place” ("…He will strike at your head…") while Jesus feet are nailed to the cross ("…while you strike at his heel…").
When Isaac rides a donkey to Moriah, carries the wood of his own sacrifice, lays on it to be sacrificed, and then a ram with his head in a thicket is laid on the wood and sacriced…
"**2 ****Then God said: “Take your son Isaac, your only one, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah. ****3 ****Early the next morning Abraham saddled his donkey, took with him his son Isaac,… ****6 ****Thereupon Abraham took the wood for the holocaust and laid it on his son Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the fire and the knife. ****9 ****When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. Next he tied up his son Isaac, and put him on top of the wood on the altar. **
**10 ****Then he reached out and took the knife to slaughter his son. ****11 ****But the LORD’S messenger called to him from heaven, “Abraham, Abraham!” “Yes, Lord,” he answered. ****12 ****“Do not lay your hand on the boy,” said the messenger. “Do not do the least thing to him. I know now how devoted you are to God, since you did not withhold from me your own beloved son.” ****13 **As Abraham looked about, he spied a ram caught by its horns in the thicket. So he went and took the ram and offered it up as a holocaust in place of his son.” Genesis 22:2-13…that is a picture of Christ’s messianic entry into Jerusalem on the back of an *** “**go to the land of Moriah. ****3 **Early the next morning Abraham saddled his donkey, took with him his son Isaac”], the way of the cross “Thereupon Abraham took the wood for the holocaust and laid it on his son Isaac’s shoulders”], and then the nailing to the cross “**he tied up his son Isaac, and put him on top of the wood **”] and finally the crucifixion of the one crowned with a crown of thorns “As Abraham looked about, he spied a ram caught by its horns in the thicket. So he went and took the ram and offered it up as a holocaust in place of his son”].
When Absalom is riding on a mule and gets his hair caught in a tree and he hangs there and then Joab stabs him in the side with a spear and then buries him under stone,…
“**9 ****Absalom…was mounted on a mule, and, as the mule passed under the branches of a large terebinth, his hair caught fast in the tree. He hung between heaven and earth while the mule he had been riding ran off…****14 ****Joab replied, “I will not waste time with you in this way.” And taking three pikes in hand, he thrust for the heart of Absalom, still hanging from the tree alive…****17 **Absalom was taken up and cast into a deep pit in the forest, and a very large mound of stones was erected over him.” 2 Samuel 18:9-17.
…that is a picture of the King of Peace “Absalom”] riding an *** into Jerusalm at the time of His messianic entry “was mounted on a mule”] and having a crown of thorns pressed into His head “his hair caught fast in the tree”] and a soldier stabbing Christ in the side with a spear as Christ hung on the cross “And taking three pikes in hand, he thrust for the heart of Absalom, still hanging from the tree alive”] and buried in a stone tomb “Absalom was taken up and cast into a deep pit in the forest, and a very large mound of stones was erected over him”].
There are many of these.
