Apologetics Sources for Wide Range of Topics

Over the last year I’ve felt a push from the Lord to start working on some kind of book detailing my reversion. My plan is to set it up topically and cite historical texts, apologetics, Church documents- basically anything credible- to show not just the arguments that convinced me of the truth of the Catholic Church, but also to display a healthy range of ideas that might help others. Some of the topics would be:
  • the Crusades
  • the Reformation
  • the Galileo Affair
  • Doctrines such as Baptismal Regeneration, the Eucharist, confession, Mary, scripture and it’s place in the Sacred Liturgy (basically all the ones our Protestant brethren may be misinformed of)
  • validity of miracles and the process the Church employs to confirm or deny them, including during the beatification process.
  • spiritual growth in the life of the laity
I would also like to include lists of Catholics who have made contributions to the world in any area- science, politics, arts etc. I realize I’m casting a wide net so any source material recommendations would be appreciated.
 
I would recommend Steve Weidenkopf’s two books “The Glory of the Crusades” which does an excellent job of dispelling myths about the Crusades and “The Real Story of Catholic History” which gives a 3 to 4 pages answer to 55 anti- Catholic myths.
 
Both of those are just what I’m looking for. All I know about the Crusades is what I’ve briefly read on CA. It’s obviously a common objection, perhaps not so much from the Protestants as with the anti-religion crowd. Thank you!
 
This one is on the list. I’m curious if anyone has read Belloc’s book on the same subject. Thanks for your recommendation!
 
I forgot, I’d like something regarding the hermeneutics of the ECFs as well. I would like to illustrate how they interpreted things like the first chapters of Genesis, Isaiah, etc. I thought Scott Hahn had a book on the subject but I I’m not certain.
