Hi, I’m new to this board and not really sure where to post this question. We have been so blessed to be one of the people who will attend Mass at National Stadium when Pope Benedict is in Washington D.C. I understand anything and everything you have on you is - “Blessed by the Pope”. My question is this. My wedding ring is not my original wedding ring and has NOT been blessed - per say. This ring holds no sentimental value as the ring my husband chose and gave me. I was going to pick up a simple gold band (with my husband with me this time) and I’m hoping that this ring will now have Apostolic Blessing - does this make sense? I know the ring was not blessed in during the actual Sacrament of marriage as my first ring was & maybe that is were my confusion lies. Any help is appreciated! God Bless

Well no not everything you have with you or on you at the time is blessed. When JPII blessed “religious atricles” at the end of the papal Mass in Cherry Creek SP. My socks, belt buckle, and back pack were not blessed. The religious pictures, rosaries, pins, that I intended to give as gifts, a few I actually still have, were. A ring having a Sacramental sign use could be.

Not to include the Obvious -socks, shirts… shoes, but meaninful religious articles/sacramentals - that I understand. I’m thinking to hard. LOL. My small mind is thinking - yes the ring would count, I want the Blessing of the Pope one this ring that symbolizes my marriage. Ahh, I can’t get it out. LOL. I get the clothing thing and obviously I wouldn’t bring a stuffed bear. I’m swaying between the sacrament/sacramental part. Thank you.
