Hello! My boyfriend is coming into the Catholic Church this up coming Easter (2012) and he will be receiving the sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion at the Vigil Mass. I am ordering an Apostolic Blessing for him but I’m not sure what occasion to focus on in particular on the Blessing. For example, Apostolic Blessings usually say:
“His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI paternally bestows his Apostolic Blessing on (name) on the occasion of his/her (special occasion).”
I was wondering which sacrament would be most appropriate to focus on for someone who is first coming into the Catholic Church, Confirmation or First Holy Communion? Or can I just say both? Or should I rather say “entry into the Catholic Church”? Thank you for your advice!
