Applying to be a priest

I did everything, got my pre theology undergrad and shizzle but now I just need to write a formal letter to the vocations director and bishop announcing my intention but I stink at formal communication so if someone could get me started than in a way you’d be helping the church get a devoted young priest that speaks the language of the youth. I am not lazy I just need a start cause I don’t write formal letters. So cheers if you can do that and get me started. Thanks

Maybe I can help, but I want to clarify a few things 1st, have you met with the appropriate people & is it now just a matter of form to write the letter?

Yes you are correct, I did everything under the sun they just want a formal letter. Thanks I still haven’t sent it, the last step always seems the hardest. Cheers.

Good luck Tenfootpole. Where are you going to go to seminary. Will the diocese pay or will you have to?

Is that a standard form in the west? I always use “venerating your right hand”, as a close in writing to a Bishop or Priest in the East – it’s a pretty much standard formal closing. . . .
