Is it appropriate to use the language of the mass outside mass. For example, if reading the bible in a group, is it appropriate to “A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke” “Thanks be to God” “Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.”
Or when asking for petitions, “We pray to the Lord - Lord hear our prayer”

Should these particular phrases be used only in mass so as not to be mistaken as some dim reflection of the mass?

Should we not say “God Bless You” when soemone sneezes, since lay people are not allowed to give blessings?🤷

I see no reason what-so-ever that one should not say “Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ” or “Thanks be to God”, at any time, they are prayerful exclamations of love & gratitude.

As far as “We pray to the Lord…, Lord hear our prayer”,
was it not Jesus himself who said whenever 2 or more are gathered, there I am also…?
So, as I see it, if we are praying with others this is most appropriate!

Of course, we should always praise the Lord in a reverent way. The Crees is part of the Mass, does that mean we should never say the Creed outside of Church, I should certainly hope not! As long as you are not trying to have a “mass” outside of Church or without a priest, your fine.

We have a form of Morning Prayer where I work and we use the Mass readings for the day. Although it’s not Mass we do the usual introductions before the readings and the usual responses afterwards.

When scripture is read during the Divine Office, I don’t think it’s introduced with anything, not even “A reading from the Book of …”. All readings in the Divine Office are followed by a Responsory, though.

I think at a Liturgy of the Word the readings are done the same way as at Mass.

I have a Rosary group at my home every Monday, and we use those expressions all t he time.

No limitations except we have to realize we cannot consecrate the bread or wine.

There is a difference in imparting a blessing and praying for one. A priest may impart God’s blessings, a lay person may pray for God’s blessings.

I understand what you are saying, but I think you missed my point, which was to be a little on the sarcastic side! 😉
