What’s the best April Fool’s joke/prank you ever played on someone, or heard about?

What did someone do to get you or someone you know!

There was a Simpsons episode where Bart took one of Homer’s beers and put it in a paint-can shaker to shake it all up. That was pretty funny.

One year a co-worker and I brought in a large tray of cookies for everyone in the office and put in it the break room and left it there. We bought the cookies at PetsMart and they were for dogs. They looked VERY REAL and VERY TASTY. It was a fun day. :D:D

The usual desk jockey pranks. Strip of paper on the optical mouse so it doesn’t register. Also switching the M and N keys. most hunt and peck keyboarders will get flustered by that.

My younger sister just got me. :o She asked me to come out to the kitchen when I had time, and as I was walking out of my hallway there was this “gigantic bug” and I don’t do bugs. Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t do bugs. So, what do I do? I let the whole house know there’s a huge bug on the loose, and then wondered aloud as to how it could have even gotten inside. Then, she comes around with her video camera saying, “Haha, April Fools!” So, yeah, she got me good, but we pull stuff on each other throughout the year, so it’s my turn now. 😃

One year when I worked in an office, we left a number for someone to call and ask for “Myra Mains”. It was the number to the local mortuary! 😉

Another person was asked to call and ask for Mr. Lyon and we gave her the number for the El Paso Zoo! 😃

But the best one was when I worked in a supermarket and we asked the woman who did the P.A.s to page “Anita Mann”: “Attention, IGA customers, Anita Mann, please come to the office immedia–OH, NO, YOU DIDN’T!!!”:rotfl:

“Please put away your notes, we are about to start the exam.”

That can only go well in certain classes though.

When I was an undergraduate science major a few years ago, I received a curious e-mail from “billnye@scienceguy.com” or something like that. Someone claiming to be Bill Nye the Science Guy sent me an e-mail claiming that he was resigning as the Science Guy and bequeathing the title to me and that I should let him know when I learn how to manipulate matter with my mind. “What the heck is this???” I thought to myself. It was obviously spam but it was way too specific and wasn’t advertising anything. Then I remembered that it was April 1st.

So then when I saw one of my wise-guy friends later in the day I recounted this experience and of course he tries to feign surprise at it. He was an IT student that figured out how to write Perl scripts to send messages with phony e-mail addresses. I only thought of it because there was a friend of ours that was really into everything Disney and he would send her fake messages from Walt Disney and various Disney characters. His girlfriend’s brother was a Colts fan (I think) and he would send him e-mails from the Colts coach thanking him for being their number 1 fan. Never a dull moment haha.

Another funny one that I have heard of involves waiting for someone to leave their computer unattended, taking a screenshot of the desktop and setting it as the desktop background, and then removing all the icons and the taskbar so when they come back they desperately try to click on the fake icons to no avail.

I live in Michigan, which has had a particularly long, snowy, cold, winter (we’ve set multiple records). Just this week, we finally started to have our first real signs of spring and the snow is finally starting to go away.

A local radio announcer came on at his usual time (6 a.m. when we’re still drowsing in bed trying to get the gumption to move) to give weather and news briefs. He said the temperature would be dropping throughout the day and we could expect 6 to 8 inches of snow today.

Looooooong pause…

April Fool.

He fooled a lot of listeners with that one.
