I wrote an essay on philosophical despair for my last project in one of my classes, and I found an an article (which I used) that touched on Saint Thomas’ view on despair, which he places opposite of hope but suggests that it can be rightly ordered. I don’t have a copy of the Summa, so I only had a brief explanation from the article’s author on it. To anyone familiar with it, what are your thoughts on his (Aquinas’) teaching?
