How does a fellow Catholic defend the Church against trials like the one with Archbishop Guzeppi Mercieca and the public view?

When we have an active leader of the Church involved in such scandal should they not be waved of duties and garments until it is resolved?

I have to answer to this assault against the Catrholic Church becasue if the Church’s actions in these matters but I cannot answer it.
 
This is the guy that was involved with the Mark Foley scandal and the congressman had stated that he was molested when he was an alter boy. I believe he came out of the closet after being caught sending sexually explicit emails and instant messaging to young boys. He stated he was an alcholic and gay and has been removed as a congressman and is in rehab.

As far as defending our faith I personally (not speaking for the church) believe that the Archbishop Mercieca should not be allowed to ever be in a situation where he is alone with children. Our faith says what he has done is wrong and therefor does not need defending.

Poor Archbishop!

The man involved in the Foley scandal is a Father Anthony Mercieca. Not Archbishop Guzeppi Mercieca!
