Hi,

Does anyone have any information regarding Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s stand on Vietnam and racial issues in the 1960s. I know he denounce the Vietnam War and he supported civil rights. However, I was wondering if anyone knew more about it and could go deeper.

It seems his stand led to a bit of a split between him and Cardinal Spellman of New York. I would just like to round out my own historical and social understanding of the situation.

I started thinking about this today after watch “Sheen Gems.” For anyone interested, the DVD is a great mix of his shows from the 1950s and 60s, but it does not show the whole programs. Thus, some of the points get lost in the editing.

Thanks!
