Hello, I was talking to one of my twins (6) about a Saint last night and I told her that she was a saint too. Are baptized children under the age of reason (7) living saints? I use the term “living” as living in the world, knowing the Saints are alive. Thanks, Tim

In one way, I would think they are saints (lower case) because of their innocent. In other way, I say they are not for they might not know what God’s will is - they are children of God but they are not a Saint …yet.

Sometime’s they are our own reflections I guess. Good and bad. But when I told her she was a saint, questions about God poured out of her. It was a neat moment to see that belief in her. That is why I asked this question. They trust like the Saints do. Tim

Yes, they trust like the Saints. I would suggest you have your twins watch some good Catholic movies - St. Therese Little flower, St Bernedette, etc… Last week, I watched the movie about Saint John Bosco. There was a little Canonized Saint (I believe His name is St. Domonic something … ) in the movie - you might want to check it out:

They watch a handful of animated movies during CCD for 1st graders. I didn’t know of too many other movies about the Saints. It would be good for the other kids as well. Thanks for the lead. Tim

Dominic Savio–my son’s patron saint. He died at 15. He was a student of St John Bosco’s and Dom Bosco said he belived that Dominic Savio never committed a mortal sin. (I pray the same for my son–but I also pray for a long life for him!)

Thanks Sr Sally. That’s the right name. Though, in the movie, the actor looks a lot younger. The movie is great. Kids can watch it too. This Saturday, we will show the movie at the church with the movie company’s permission.
