How do I respond to help my sister understand that the “life” issue takes precedence over all other issues in public life? Is there a Scripture passage or something in the Catechism that supports my argument?
My sister and I are in a disagreement about the value of the abortion versus the war issues. The abortion issue is my guideline and hers is “the whole package.” Her response to me was “The Pope has told his opinion of our war in Iraq, so are those who support it evil, too? All public officials fail when it comes to respect for life. I prefer the whole package.”
