Are ALL demons actively evil, or are some merely apathetic?

I had trouble coming up with a title question for the thread.

BUT PLEASE READ to understand my question:

I find the notion odd that each and every fallen angel is intent on actively countering God’s will, all the time. Yes, I know that demons are angels who rejected God. But why should we think each and every demon, from the moment of their Fall onward, are always looking to destroy humans and all that is good?

In other words, is it possible that many fallen angels — maybe even most(?) — are simply apathetic? They chose against God, and do not want to serve Him. But why does that mean they are ACTIVELY trying to obstruct his will ALL THE TIME?

I do believe in angels and demons, because Church and Scripture (and Jesus Christ) taught them. But sometimes, it feels like we approach it with a mythological flavor. You know?

Just the general notion that the demons are fallen angels. And so they are all evil in that sense.

Under the section “The Fall of the Angels,” it seems insistent that the Devil (singular), that is Satan, is indeed actively against humanity: “Although Satan may act in the world out of hatred for God and his kingdom in Christ Jesus, and although his action may cause grave injuries…”

But it does not address that this is the case with ALL demons, but rather, that all demons had a fall: “Scripture speaks of a sin of these angels. This “fall” consists in the free choice of these created spirits, who radically and irrevocably rejected God and his reign.”

IDK, part of what sparked my question was that it sometimes seems very human-centric to think everything is about us, even when it comes to angels. And even mythological that EACH and EVERY demon is just lurking around trying to actively destroy God’s order and man’s holiness.

Having fallen and knowing their fate is eternal damnation, they want human souls to join them and not join God. They are consumed by envy, hatred, and pride. From their point of view, it is a much better use of their time to try and lure human souls to sin and die in their sin/go to hell, than to sit there doing nothing.

To my mind the whole concept of angels and demons smells of myth. Every religion seems to have these same concepts. And we call them myths because they are not of our religion. How do their myths differ from ours which we accept?

The Church, therefore, exhorts her sons, that through dialogue and collaboration with the followers of other religions, carried out with prudence and love and in witness to the Christian faith and life, they recognize, preserve and promote the good things, spiritual and moral, as well as the socio-cultural values found among these men.

From Nostra Aetate.

So, the Church accepts all the good of noncatholic religions, and denies the portions that do not agree with Her.

Angels have a different intellect and will than us physical humans.

Myth in a technical sense doesn’t mean “false”.

We affirm the truths in other religions, knowing we have the fullness of truth.

There is a war against God. That’s what the fallen angels are doing. They are not merely turning away from God. Since being is good, the only way to reject God is to do that which is contrary to what is good, the further away from good the better. With humans, we tend to sin out of ignorance and weakness. But with the angels there is no ignorance about what they are doing. It is an ideological act. It’s a war.

Obviously, destroying God’s creation has become an object of passion for fallen angels. It’s my belief that they may even do favors for humans who help them in their goal. But it all leads to hell in the end.

First, I’m glad you haven’t had to deal with a demon -
If you did - look out.
Apathetic - lol - that’s what I would call murderous scheming - without the victim knowing it !
