I always understood that archangels and angels were not real people. And I don’t have a basis for that belief. If they were not “real” people, then why are they called saints?
It depends on what you mean by “real people.” If you are asking if angels are human beings, the answer is no. But angels are real and they are persons. They are simply a different order of creature than humans. Humans are human persons; angels are angelic persons. Those angels who are in heaven are called saints by virtue of being in heaven.
