Are catholics considered Christian?

I don’t know much about the bible,but I’ve been going to church since 2010. I 'm visiting my family in another city away from my church and I won’t be back until the summer. I’m not as faithful as I’m supposed to be and I’ve kind of already excepted the fact I might be going to hell. I am not going to go to church down here I just won’t I don’t know why. Most of my family down here are Islamic. I am christian . I was on the internet looking for things ( they weren’t Christian related) and I ran across this site. I am hoping to get some answers to things because I’m really confused about alot of things! I was wondering if Catholics can answer some of my questions. I didn’t try to look for a Christian site because I like to trust my insticnt , and it led me here ,but if Catholics aren’t considered Christian I geuss I’ll just try something else maybe.

The Catholic Church is not only Christian, it is the oldest Christian Church and the only one actually founded by Jesus. It has no other founder. The name “Catholic” was first used at the beginning of the second century. This is simply a fact.

The Catholic Church had already existed from the time of Jesus to the beginnings of Protestantism in the sixteenth Century. It was the early Protestants’ link with Christianity and was what they ‘protested’ about.
