We are getting a newly ordained priest this week who will be our new Parochial Vicar . He has been studying the Liturgy in Rome for a whole year. I am very excited about getting this new priest. What changes if any might we see in the Liturgy?

Anyone else seen changes after getting newly ordained priests?

Blessings

You aren’t, by chance, in Ft. Worth, are you? Would this be Fr. Jason Cargo?

I am in Plano, north of Dallas. Yes, Fr. Jason Cargo is the name of the new priest. You know him?

I hope this new Priest is a great spiritual father for you and your parish.

As he has been studying liturgy in Rome, there is a good chance that he will be a proponent of solemn, reverent worship. There is a very good chance that this young priest has been influenced by the current Holy Father’s liturgical preferences. Therefore, I think there is a big possibility that your parish will experience some good changes within the liturgy.

However, you must make sure to give him plenty of support. You have to remember that people have different liturgical preferences and that not everyone in your Church will be receptive to change. Make sure that this new Priest knows that you’re behind him and are supportive of the changes he is making.
