Are Christians right or wrong to voice their own strong views?

I’ve read the head of the Church of England (Queen) keeps impartial at all times regarding all matters.

Sounds rather sensible advice to me…

It sounds like terrible advice to me. If you see an injustice, is it not your job to stand up against it?

She has multiple roles as queen. Taking a particular view from one position might be seen as not including those who don’t hold to that position. For example, she is the head of the commonwealth but not all members of the commonwealth are Christian, let along members of the Church of England.

Like her role as monarch, where the running of her realms is left to elected politicians, she has let church matters within the Church of England decided by church officials and the synod(?). She has no role in deciding this stuff. Hopefully, some actual Anglicans, particularly those familiar with the C of E, will provide more on this.

Christians are instructed by Scripture to voice views on matters relating to salvation. Each individual, no, but definitely those in positions where they are expected to. The Church (not just Catholics) is expected to speak even if it’s not popular.

Well, that’s not to do with her Christianity, which she is actually rather vocal about (her personal belief, not what she thinks should happen within the CofE). It’s because of the role she plays within the British government, among other things.

But some Christians on this forum for instance have strong political views.

The Bible never mentions to have such views on politics?

Are they right or wrong to have such view’s?
As no holy prophet spoke of politics.

Christians are still people who are allowed to have thoughts on worldly issues. It’s not like we’re obliged to just say “no comment” on everything.

In some sense prophets did have to speak about the politics of their day. Also, many things that are considered political were moral issues first. For example, abortion is immoral before it is politically incorrect. Or, in other words, because it is immoral it is politically incorrect. Thus, we must stand against abortion because it is immoral, even if we have to get involved in politics in order to do so.

In fact, many things that people would assume are only political are moral issues as well. For example, one may assume gun ownership is solely a political issue. I would argue otherwise. I would say that it is a moral issue because the family(in particular the father) has the right to defend his family, no matter what the cost.

I hope this helps!

Gee, I seem to remember that JESUS said a few things. Like, “Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God”.

“If a person asks you to go one mile with him, go with him two.” Do you know the context for this? It relates to a ‘forced service’ where the military (those were ‘in charge’ over Jerusalem etc./Palestine, considered a ‘conquered province’) could conscript any citizen to help carry military supplies for a given distance —a mile. Obviously this was resented. But Jesus said to not only go the ‘required’ march but to go twice as far. Interesting, yes?

Not to mention the Old Testament people who were political advisors or leaders. Moses was in a political firestorm with pharaoh. David was king. Etc.

I can tell you that with unbelievers, they have strong views and they can be quite badgering about them.

keeps impartial at all times regarding all matters.
(2 Corinthians 10:5) “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

(Ephesians 4:25) “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.”

(Ephesians 5:11) “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.”

When Truth is threatened, or people are talking/acting in a way displeasing to God, we should speak up. But: ⬇️

(Proverbs 17:28) Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.

(Proverbs 13:3) “Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.

(Matthew 12:36-37) ”I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Regarding your own personal opinions, yes keep quiet regarding situations. And never bear false witness.

I just find it very strange.

When a fear loving Christian has also strong political views. Doesn’t make sense to me.

I guess you should elaborate. I think it’s almost a Christian’s duty to be assertive with strong political views. We live in a world where the people have a voice. You should also address the fact that Jesus had vocalized strong political opinions as well as most of the prophets some of which were political leaders or advisors. Have you read the Bible in its entirety?

God gave us the Ten Commandments & the Two great commandments. We shouldn’t change them anymore than the Constitution.
“I FEEL!” doesn’t matter. IT IS THIS WAY, is where it’s at.
God doesn’t make junk! So, why do we have special needs babies?? Well, the Sins of the Father are passed down from generation to generation…
Why was that man born blind? So, the glory of the Father could be seen.
Disabled children teach us, by their existence to love w the heart of God. God sends these children to us as gifts too grow in love.
NO ABORTIONS FOR ANYTHING? HMMM!
If young girls were taught as we were once taught & lived it, there would be no abortions.
We are TREASURES! We are FUTURE BLESSED MOTHERS OF THEIR CHILDREN. Our womb is Holy. WE ARE NOT SEX TOYS FOR RAMPAGING TESTOSTERONE.
As Mrs. REAGAN said,”JUST SAY NO!” Hers was a drug campaign. We need to unite to change the the social climate. LUST FEELS GOOD! IT IS NOT LOVE!! Love stays & Lust runs away.

Our schools need to be Boys & Girls schools, again. Uniforms or modest 3 outfits. Our rules were good rules. TV programs &Movies teach soul sucking situations.
We have surrendered our parenting to Hollywood. There was a discussion on what type of dress to wear to mass. Sundresses w straps are a NONO! We complained. If I died wearing a string bikini or thong underwear & had to stand before Jesus!!! Oh boy. If you dress like you couldn’t stand before God, who sees you where you are, anyway, SHAME WON’T SAVE YOU. I’m not the enemy here. Just saying. Holiness! Chasity, Charity. We are to be Spiritual love machines seeking the Salvation of souls.
So, I just voiced my strong view as an Exhorter. Some are called to teach…

I Corinthians: 12-15
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
Code:
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
Rethink who you are in Christ. He loves us all, as yet sinners. If you love me, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS! The Saints did good things. They weren’t acting Saintly all the time.
In Christ’s Love

What doesn’t make sense? I don’t understand where you’re seeing some kind of contradiction.
