Are condoms permissible to stem HIV?

My pastor has this idea. It has infected the youth group as one of those issues where the Church is still grappling and may soon allow. Are there any definitive statements on this as yet? How do I argue against his theory that a man and woman should not be forced to master themselves if one is infected?
 
Hi,
