Are fallen away Catholics in danger of hell?

I have sought in several Catholic areas on the internet for an answer to this question.
What is the Church’s stand on people who were raised Catholic, but have strayed from the Church, and now call themselves “non-denominational” Christians? Basically, they have dropped the Catholic religion, and now profess to “accept Jesus Christ as my Lord, and Savior”. But, they no longer attend Mass, or go to Confession, or Communion. Are they living in mortal sin, and will they be condemned to hell when they die?
