This is a serious question! Think about it! Mice… ahem… I mean, men. Men like Richard Dawkins will only last so long on this earth. When they are gone churches will not be built in their name, religions will not focus on them, they will soon be lost in time. Yet, the Lord will still thrive, adding millions of believers to his flock every year.

Tragic comedy? I do believe so. Thoughts?

Well you haven’t defined tragic comedy (a term essential to the discussion) so I’ll attempt to do so - “Tragicomedy is fictional work that blends aspects of the genres of tragedy and comedy. In English literature, from Shakespeare’s time to the nineteenth century, tragicomedy referred to a serious play with either a happy ending or enough jokes throughout the play to lighten the mood.” (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tragic_comedy)

Seeing as famous atheists are not fictional (nevermind the other incongruities), it would appear that the term “tragic comedy” does not apply to them.

Are you sure this question belonged in the Philosophy section? 🤷

The devil will also thrive, adding millions to his flock each year.

The story of the human race is the fall of man (tragic) and his rescue by Jesus Christ (happy ending). But that’s so only for those who believe. For those who do not believe, life is a tragedy … because it does not end well at all. 🤷

Tragic comedies can be serious. Think Hamlet! Oh, there is PLENTY fiction in the life of an atheist… PLENNNNNNNNNNNTY!

the more I analyze Dawkins, the more stupid he seems. He’s about as silly as Monty Python’s Flying Circus. And I can only appreciate British humor to a certain extent 😃

Agreed.

If you want a great movie? Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed made by Ben Stein. A MUST watch for both the religious and non-religious alike. Blood Money is great too!
