Are felt Cloth Scapulars Valid Brown scapulars?

Unless there is an exception that I haven’t heard, felt is MADE from wool, and so, yes, it is valid.

I just bought my first brown scapular, with pictures of St Michael and Constantines shield on the two sides. I plan to get my priest to enroll me, substituting a rosary and a chaplet of St. Michael for the Little Office. Im in the process of finding a scapular of St. Michael too, but the bookstore i was at didnt have one.

If you didnt notice, my love for angels was recently rekindled:D 👍
 
most sites I visted never directly commented on the validity of other scapulars, but many did quite blatantly state that “Only Wool scapulars have had miracles attributed to them”

Just wanted to make sure that everyone understood. In no way was I stating that the Church required a certain type of wool. Only the advice I was given and what I personally do.
 
While everyone is on the topic of the Brown Scapular, what has Rome said regarding the little “medallion” scapulars I’ve seen people with? Are THOSE things considered valid? I ask because I see questions being asked about felt, wool, woven wool, and those “medallion”-like scapulars make me wonder… They don’t look like scapulars to me.

Lay Carmelite speaking here-- no, the requirement for wool does not appear in the new Rite of Blessing and Enrolment in the Brown Scapular published by a joint committe of the OCD and O.Carm orders and confirmed by the Congregation for Divine Worship in 1996. A “dark colored material” is needed.

Remember that these are for the most part personal devotions. So I’m not sure “valid” is a proper term to use.
