Are frog legs acceptable?

I am a praticing Catholic - but was asked a question at work today that I could not answer.

I was asked if Catholics can eat frog legs and snakes during Lent on Fridays. It was on a radio quiz and the answer given was yes. I am not really sure.
If you could help I would apreciate it.
